The Gearhart name has been synonymous with high quality, reliable downhole equipment and tools for over fifty years. At Gearhart, we strive to be a leader in innovation and customer service while having the creativity to accommodate new ventures and needs in the oilfield industry.

Marvin Gearhart - Chairman
In 1955, Marvin Gearhart and Harrold Owen formed Gearhart-Owen, a wireline and perforation service provider, the world leading independent manufacturer of logging trucks and wireline tools. Marvin has been involved in the formation of over 380 oilfield businesses throughout his career.

Gearhart was one of the founders and a partner in Geolink (UK) Ltd., formed in 1989. This company was a leading supplier of MWD service equipment to the global industry and is now owned by GE. Also during the 80’s, he was a partner in Rockbit Industries, Inc. a manufacturer of drilling bits. He sold this company in 2005 and started The Gearhart Companies, located in Fort Worth, soon after. The Gearhart Companies is a private company that specializes in directional drilling tools and service.
 

Erik Johnston - President and Director
Gearhart Companies appointed Erik Johnston as President in 2014. Johnston advised the directors and prior management of the company since 2013.

Johnston also provides consultancy services focused on petroleum fiscal regime design, project valuation, and energy policy formation. In such capacity he has worked with numerous governments and oil companies on multi-billion dollar projects including international investment disputes, frontier acreage licensing, and in other new project contexts.

Johnston holds degrees in mathematics, economics and law.
 
Natalie Parys - Vice President
Gearhart Companies appointed Natalie Parys as Vice President in 2014. Parys is charged with implementing and maintaining IT system that support purchasing, inventory management, and sales operations.

Natalie Parys is a graduate of Texas Christian University.
